Kiwi and Soapy played on the streets of Bucharest this week. we earned 55 lei, which looks like a lot because it was a big pile of 1 and 5 lei bills. but it’s only around 14 euros. it was a lot of fun anyway because Sergio was with us, too, juggling and rolling around and climbing the walls of the little passage way leading to a courtyard with art shops.
a little girl gave us a card and signed it „best wishes“. we also met a woman from greenpeace romania, who we asked to translate the „deep in the jungle“ song from the protest song book. now we just have to figure out how to sing the (hand-written) romanian words…
we‘re at Anca’s parents‘ house outside of Sibiu. they make their own delicious cakes, teas, schnaps and wine. (well, we didn‘t feel like drinking tonight after the long bus ride, but i‘ve been here twice before, and i can say that their shots and wines are also quite delicious, and potent)
after dinner, we all sang romanian folk songs.
this is what we can imagine the trip to Greece will be like — meeting people along the way who take us in for a day or two and learning to play new types of songs
